Rara 7 Days Tour

Day 1: Kathmandu to Kohalpur/ Surkhet (approx. 500km, 12-14hours, drive) Your Rara adventure begins early in the morning from Kathmandu. Today is a long scenic drive toward western Nepal. The journey takes you away from the Kathmandu valley and gradually into the western hills and Terai region. After passing through various towns and and settlements, the drive continues toward Kohalpur or surkhet, depending on the road and travel arrangements. The day is primarily dedicated to overland travel, so travelers should be prepared for a long journey. The changing landscapes, rivers, hills, villages, and local settlements provide a fascinating introduction to the remote western part of Nepal .

  Day 2: Kohalpur/ Surkhet to Manma- Kalikot (approx. 250km, 12-14 hours, drive) After breakfast, continue the journey toward Manma, Kalikot , the administrative center of Kalikot District. Today’s drive takes yoy deeper into the remote Karnali region.  The road gradually moves into mountainous terrain, with dramatic hills, valleys, rivers, and traditional settlements along the way. The journey can be long and challenging due to the mountains road conditions. However, the  changing scenery makes the drive an important part of the Rara experience. As you approach Kalikot, the landscapes becomes increasingly remote and mountains.

  Day3: Manma/ Nagma to Rara (approx. 135km, 9-11 hours, drive) Today is one of the most exciting days of the journey as you continue toward the spectacular Rara Lake. After breakfast, begin the drive from the Manma/ Nagma area toward Rara. The route passes through remote mountain landscapes, forests, villages, and winding mountain roads. The approximately 135 km journey may take around 9-11 hours depanding o road conditions, traffic, weather and stops along the route. As you approach Rara, the surrounding environment becomes increasingly peaceful and scenic. The first views of Rara Lake and its surrounding forests provide a memorable highlight of the  journey.

Day 4: Explore Rara and Murmatop Hiking Today is dedicated to exploring the beautiful surrounding of Rara Lake. After breakfast, spend the day enjoying the natural beauty of Rara and exploring the surrounding area. The clear lake, forested hills, peaceful environment, and mountain landscapes make Rara an ideal destination for nature lovers and adventure travelers. The itinerary also includes Murmatop hiking, offering an opportunity to explore the surrounding hills and enjoy panoramic views of the Rara region. Travelers can take time to enjoy the scenery, walk around the area, take a photographs, and experience the peaceful atmosphere of one of Nepal’s remote natural destinations. Note: Guided hiking is not included in the package. Travelers requiring a guide should make separate arrangements.

  Day 5: Rara to Jumla/Manma Today marks the the beginning of the return portion of the adventure. The route takes you back through the remote landscapes of Karnali, offering another opportunity to experience the dramatic mountain roads and rural scenery of the region. Depending on roads conditions and travel arrangements, the journey will continue toward Jumla or Manma

  Day 6: Jumla/ Manma to Surkhet/ Kohalpur Today, continue the return journey toward Surkhet or Kohalpur. After breakfast, begin the drive through the mountains roads of Karnali. The route gradually takes you toward the lower regions of western Nepal. This is another scenic overland travel day, with  opportunities to observe local village, rivers, hills, agricultural landscapes, and the changing geography of western Nepal.

  Day 7: Surkhet/ Kohalpur to Kathmandu Today is the final day of the Rara Lake Adventure. After breakfast, depart from surkhet/Kohalpur and begin the long drive back toward Kathmandu. The route follows the western and central highway corridors before eventually reaching the Kathmandu Valley. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, the 7 day Rara Lake Adventure tour officially comes to an end. We hope the journey through the remote landscapes of Karnali, the beautiful Rara Lake, and the mountain communities of western Nepal provides you with lasting memorises of Nepal’s natural beauty.
