The Manaslu Circuit & Tsum Valley Trek is one of Nepal’s most amazing trips. It takes you to see the beautiful high Himalayas. It also brings you to the quiet, spiritual Tsum Valley. You start in green lowlands near Kathmandu. You walk along the Budhi Gandaki River. The river flows fast and clear. You pass terraced fields where farmers grow rice and corn. You walk through thick forests with tall trees. You cross wobbly suspension bridges made of wood and rope. These bridges sway as you step on them. Then you reach Tsum Valley, called “The Hidden Valley of Happiness.” This valley is a secret place. Life there is simple. People live close to nature. They follow old spiritual ways.
In Tsum Valley, you visit old monasteries. Mu Gompa is one of them. It is a silent and quiet place. Monks pray there every day. Gumba Lungdang is another monastery. It sits alone in the mountains. You can feel peace when you enter. You can also hike to Ganesh Himal Base Camp. This is a high spot with glaciers and big mountains. You see ice shining in the sun. The air feels cold and fresh. After Tsum Valley, you join the Manaslu Circuit path. You walk around Mount Manaslu. It is 8,163 meters tall. It is the eighth highest peak in the world. The mountain looks strong and beautiful. The trail goes up and down. You see rocky paths and open skies. The trip ends at Larke-La Pass. This pass is at 5,160 meters. From there, you see snow-covered mountains. You stay in a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu for 3 nights. This is on Days 1, 2, and 23. During the trek, you stay in teahouses from Days 3 to 22. Teahouses are simple homes where locals let you sleep. They have beds and warm blankets. You get 3 meals a day on the trek. This is breakfast, lunch, and dinner.. You also get a farewell special dinner on. You get safe drinking water during the trek. Outline Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu (1,300 meters)
You arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport. A Snow Bank Adventure person meets you with a smile. They help you go to your hotel. The hotel is a 4-star place. You can rest after your long flight. You might feel tired. Take a nap or unpack your bag. In the evening, you eat a traditional welcome dinner. You meet your guide and team. They tell you about the trip.
Day 2: Trek Preparation Day
This is your free day in Kathmandu. You eat breakfast at the hotel. Then you meet your guide. They help get permits for the trek. They check your trekking gear. Make sure you have good shoes and warm clothes. You can visit cultural places. Go to Boudhanath to see a big white stupa. Visit Pashupatinath to see a holy temple by the river. Check out Kathmandu Durbar Square with its old buildings. These places show Nepal’s history.
Day 3: Drive to Machhakhola (869 meters) – 7 to 8 hours
You start your adventure with a drive. You eat breakfast first. Then you get in a private car. You go along the Trishuli and Budhi Gandaki rivers. The roads are pretty with green hills. The path gets bumpy in the Gorkha area. You pass fields where farmers work. You see waterfalls dropping down rocks. You go through small towns with colorful houses. You reach Machhakhola. It is a quiet village by the river.
Day 4: Trek to Jagat (1,340 meters) – 7 hours
You start walking after breakfast. You follow the Budhi Gandaki River. The water moves fast. You cross wobbly suspension bridges. They shake a little. You see waterfalls splashing down. You pass farms on the hills. People grow crops there. The path goes up and down. It can be tiring. After 7 hours, you reach Jagat village. It has stone houses with flat roofs.
Day 5: Trek to Lokpa (2,260 meters) – 6 to 7 hours
You enter the special Tsum Valley area today. You eat breakfast first. Then you start walking. The trail has pretty cliffs. You see deep river gorges. Red rhododendron trees grow along the path. They bloom in spring. You go up to Lokpa village. It is a peaceful place. It marks the start of Tsum Valley.
Day 6: Trek to Chumling (2,386 meters) – 5 hours
You eat breakfast. Then you follow a narrow path. You cross small bridges over streams. You go up steep hills. The climb is not too hard. After 5 hours, you reach Chumling. You see Ganesh Himal in the distance. Small Tibetan villages are nearby. People there live simply.
Day 7: Trek to Chhokangparo (3,031 meters) – 6 hours
You walk through pine forests after breakfast. The trees smell fresh. You cross wobbly bridges again. You pass walls with Buddhist prayers carved in stone. These are called mani walls. The villages feel real as you go higher in Tsum Valley. People wear colorful clothes. They might wave at you.
Day 8: Trek to Nile (3,361 meters) – 5 hours
You eat breakfast. Then you walk on flat paths. The trail is easier today. You see snow-covered peaks in the distance. Nile is the last village before Mu Gompa. It has great views of mountains. The air feels cooler.
Day 9: Hike to Mu Gompa (3,700 meters) & return – 4 hours
You eat breakfast. Then you hike to Mu Gompa. It is an old monastery in Tsum Valley. The building is made of stone. Monks live there. They pray every day. You see amazing views of peaks and the Tibetan land beyond. You spend time looking around. Then you walk back to Nile.
Day 10: Trek back to Chhokangparo (3301meters) – 5 hours
You eat breakfast. Then you walk back downhill to Chhokangparo. The path is not as steep. You see the pretty valley again. It feels calm. You can hear birds singing. You stay in a teahouse. You get breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 11: Trek to Gumba Lungdang (3,400 meters) – 7 hours
You eat breakfast. The path today is steep and hard. It takes effort to climb. But the views are worth it. You reach Gumba Lungdang. It is a quiet monastery. Forests and mountains are all around. Monks live there in peace.
Day 12: Hike to Ganesh Himal Base Camp (4,900 meters) & return – 8 to 9 hours
You start early after breakfast. You hike to Ganesh Himal Base Camp. The path is tough but beautiful. You see glaciers shining in the sun. Snow covers the ground. Tall peaks rise above you. You spend time at the base camp. Take pictures and rest. Then you walk back to Gumba Lungdang.
Day 13: Trek to Chumling (2,386 meters) – 4 hours
You eat breakfast. Then you walk down through forests. You pass stone villages. People live simply there. You reach Chumling. It is peaceful and pretty.
Day 14: Trek to Deng (1,860 meters) – 6 hours
You leave Tsum Valley after breakfast. You join the Manaslu Circuit path. You walk through bamboo forests. The trees are tall and green. You cross wobbly bridges. You reach Deng village. It is a small place by the river.
Day 15: Trek to Namrung (2,630 meters) – 7 hours
You eat breakfast. Then you keep going up. You walk through a narrow gorge. The Budhi Gandaki River flows below. You cross it many times on bridges. The scenery turns into mountains. You reach Namrung.
Day 16: Trek to Sama Gaun (3,520 meters) – 7 hours
You enter high mountain land after breakfast. You pass Lihi and Sho villages. People live there with animals. You see Manaslu, Himal Chuli, and Ngadi Chuli mountains. They look big and white. You reach the pretty Sama Gaun village. It has stone houses.
Day 17: Acclimatization Hike to Birendra Lake or Pungen Gompa – 6 to 7 hours
You need to get used to the high place. You eat breakfast. Then you hike to Birendra Lake or Pungen Gompa. Birendra Lake has clear water. Pungen Gompa is a nice monastery. It has good views of Mount Manaslu. You walk slowly to stay safe.
Day 18: Trek to Samdo (3,860 meters) – 3 hours
You eat breakfast. Then you take a short, pretty walk to Samdo. It is the last village before the high pass. You can look around. See the village and viewpoints. People there are friendly.
Day 19: Acclimatization Hike to Rui La Pass (4,998 meters) – 8 hours
You eat breakfast. Then you hike to Rui La Pass near the Tibetan border. The path is steep. You see amazing views all around. Mountains stretch far away. You go back to Samdo after.
Day 20: Trek to Dharmasala (4,460 meters) – 5 hours
You eat breakfast. Then you walk up slowly to Dharmasala, also called Larke Phedi. It is the base for the big pass. The air gets thin. Take it easy.
Day 21: Cross Larke-La Pass (5,160 meters), trek to Bhimtang (3,590 meters) – 8 hours
This is the hardest but best day. You eat breakfast. Then you go up slowly to Larke-La Pass. It takes time to reach the top. You see amazing mountain views. Snow shines in the sun. Then you walk down to Bhimtang. The path is steep.
Day 22: Trek to Dharapani (1,960 meters) – 8 hours
You eat breakfast. Then you walk down through red rhododendron forests. The flowers are bright in spring. You see green hills and small streams. You reach Dharapani. It joins the Annapurna Circuit path.
Day 23: Drive to Kathmandu – 9 to 10 hours
You eat breakfast. Then you start a long drive back. You go to Kathmandu. The road has pretty countryside views. You see farms and rivers. You arrive in the evening. You stay in a 4-star hotel. You get breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You also have a farewell dinner with your team.
Day 24: Final Departure
You eat breakfast at the hotel. A Snow Bank Adventure person takes you to the airport. You check your bags. You fly home with happy memories of your Himalayan trip. You get breakfast.
